Children and adults with speech delays, language disorders, articulation challenges, stuttering, voice disorders, cognitive-communication difficulties, or swallowing concerns may benefit.
You can begin by completing the referral form or obtaining a referral from your primary care physician or another healthcare professional. Insurance verification and intake assessments are typically required.
Sessions are tailored to the individual's needs and may include exercises for articulation, language development, social communication, cognitive skills, or swallowing techniques. For children, therapists often use play-based or functional approaches.
Sessions typically last between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the individual's needs and insurance coverage.
Frequency varies based on the treatment plan, but most individuals attend one to three sessions per week.
Many insurance plans, including Medicaid, cover outpatient speech therapy. Coverage depends on the diagnosis, provider credentials, and plan specifics. Verification is completed during intake.
Yes. While most outpatient speech therapy services take place in one of our centers, home-based therapy may be available on a case-by-case basis depending on individual needs and insurance approval. Telehealth options may also be available.
Goals are developed collaboratively by the speech-language pathologist (SLP), the individual, and their caregivers, based on assessment results and functional needs.
Therapists provide regular updates, progress notes, and re-evaluations. Families are encouraged to participate in sessions and maintain open communication with the therapist.
Speech-language pathologists hold a master’s degree in speech-language pathology, are licensed in their state, and often hold certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
