FAQs
Learn More About School Consulting Services
School-based consulting involves ABA professionals working directly with educators and school teams to support students with behavioral, social, and learning needs. The goal is to create inclusive, supportive environments that promote student success.
Students with autism or other developmental disabilities, especially those with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), benefit from targeted behavior support, skill-building strategies, and classroom accommodations. Teachers and staff also gain tools to manage behaviors and foster engagement.
Consultants observe students in their natural classroom environment, conduct assessments, collaborate with staff, and develop behavior intervention plans. They also provide training and coaching to support effective implementation.
Unlike direct therapy, school-based consulting focuses on empowering educators and teams to implement ABA strategies themselves. The consultant acts as a guide and resource, helping schools build internal capacity to support students.
Strategies may include positive behavior supports, reinforcement systems, visual schedules, social skills instruction, and environmental modifications. All approaches are evidence-based and tailored to the student’s needs.
Consultants collaborate with IEP teams to align behavior goals with academic objectives and ensure supports are consistent across settings, contributing to meaningful progress toward IEP outcomes.
